The congolese  pianist released “Paradox” . A spontaneous flow of 11 pieces, warm-hearted as  the image of this  60 years young man.

In “Paradox”, a very refined work in a trio with Mbappe Etienne on bass and Francis Lassus on drums, Ray Lema authorizes himself to the eclecticism of languages and genres. This diversity is not surprising with a musician that simplistic definitions have always exasperated.

He pays tribute to two of his friends who have just passed away : the french friend Claude Nougaro, who has “revealed  to him the beauty of the french language”, and the Malian Ali Farka Touré, who has “taught  a lot about african cultures,” to him who’s a “bit uprooted”. And he continues on his way, with humility, a child’s gaze focused on this world full of “people and wonderful things.”  which, he believes,  gives him  its energy.
